About the Role
Our client is a VIC government organisation based in Footscray VIC. They are currently seeking a Payroll Consultant to come in and work with them on a 3 month temp assignment with possible extensions.
Candidates for this role must have:
- Knowledge and experience with Australian payroll compliance
- Superannuation compliance & processing experience
- Knowledge and experience with WorkCover processing & compliance
Key responsibilities will include:
- Regulatory Compliance & Legislative Standards Ensure all payroll processing and payments adhere to the relevant Award, EBA, Fair Work Act, Superannuation legislation, and applicable statutory requirements.
- Risk Management & Issue Consolidation Proactively identify, monitor, and consolidate payroll compliance risks, gaps, and issues to mitigate potential financial and operational exposure.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Service Delivery Partner with HR, Finance, and key business stakeholders to guarantee accurate, efficient, and timely end-to-end payroll outcomes.
- Payroll Governance & Control Frameworks Design, implement, and maintain payroll governance structures, compliance controls, and standard operating procedures.
- Internal Audits & Process Optimisation Plan and execute targeted internal payroll audits, analysing results to implement actionable recommendations and continuous process improvements.
- WorkCover Management Oversee end-to-end WorkCover payroll processes, including injury management payment adjustments, rate assessments, claims reconciliation, and annual wage declarations.
- Team Training & Compliance Capability Deliver guidance, training, and dedicated support to payroll teams on regulatory updates, compliance standards, and best practices.
- STP Management & Complex Calculations Oversee Single Touch Payroll reporting and validation processes, ensuring precision in complex back-pay, remediation, and adjustments.
